The students are scheduled in pairs for in-car instruction.  Students are required to complete a minimum of 18 hours of documented specified driving practice with their parent during the course.
The course fee of $350.00 covers the required 30 hours of classroom instruction and the six hours of in-car instruction and observation, which is to be completed within 12 weeks.  The $350.00 fee is due at the parent meeting before the first day of class. Please avoid the following additional fees: $40 NSF returned check fee, $30 missed drive fee (school must be notified 24 hours in advance to avoid fee), $25 missed or make-up class fee , $55 lost or damaged book fee (the book is on LOAN to the student), $55 cash book deposit will be due immediately if the student's grade average drops below 80% any time during the course.  The book deposit will be returned when the books have been returned regardless of successful completion of the course.  All fees and requirements must be satisfied before the driver’s education certificate can be issued.
Adult lessons (for students over 18 years old) are available at $45 per hour. The number of hours of instruction varies directly with the student’s ability to master skills and maneuvers necessary to pass the state DOL on-road test.  The student will master these skills more quickly with practice at home.

Dear Parents / Guardians,
Thank you for contacting us at Lewis County Driving School.  We seek to provide quality traffic safety education and flexible scheduling to meet your student’s needs.
Successful completion of this course is a required prerequisite to obtain a Washington State driver’s license prior to age 18. Waivers for instruction permits are available for your student at age 15 at the first class day or within 7 days before the first class and when he/she has paid the fee in full for this state approved Traffic Safety Education course.
Lewis County Driving School encourages and requires you, the parent, to log a minimum of 26 hours of specific parent guided driving practice during the course to improve the student's driving skills as they are taught in class. Improved skills and proper attitude will help your student become a safer driver on the road.
As always, the parent or guardian is the final judge of when a young person is ready for their driver’s license test. We provide the behind the wheel and classroom instruction. The third and most important element, judgment, is a factor that only a parent can fully evaluate.
Please feel free to call between 10am and 8pm. We are always happy to answer your questions.  Please leave a message, your call will be returned as soon as possible (I may be out driving).  Office hours are by appointment.
