Q: What is the cost of the class?

A: The cost of the course is $425 for classes starting after August 2019. This includes the fees for the first DOL written test and drive test. Scholarship opportunities are available (see below).

Q: What Scholarships are available?

A: PLEASE NOTE: You cannot combine scholarships and they must be requested at or before payment. Scholarships cannot be combined with payment plans or credit card use.

3.5 GPA or better on the last 3 quarters $20 off.
Must show transcript of the last 3 quarters.
Sibling Relief $20 off each if two or more siblings enroll into the same class at the same time.
(Must have same parent, step parent, or legal guardian)

 

Q: How long is this course?

A: The course lasts 5 weeks and the driving lessons may take another week or so. The course includes 15 classroom sessions (2 hours each) and 6 drive lessons (1 hour observation; 1 hour actualy driving). There is a mandatory Orientation meeting (check the schedual here). One parent with the student only, please.

Q: What happens if the student misses a scheduled class or drive?

A: A fee of $25 to make up a missed class and $40 to make up a drive. Drives can be rescheduled without the fee if the school is notified at least 24 hours in advance.

Q: Are there any other fees?

A: Yes (but please avoid them at all cost): $40 nsf check fee, $40 missed drive or extra drive fee, $25 missed class, make up or extra class time fee (after class lesson 15), $55 lost or damaged book fee. The course textbook is LOANED not given to the student. At any time the student's GPA for the class goes below 80% then a $50 book deposit will be due immediately before the next class. The book deposit will be returned when the book is returned regardless of successful completion of the course. THE COURSE COMPLETION OF DRIVER'S EDUCATION WILL NOT BE ENTERED IN THE DOL WEBSITE IF THERE ARE ANY FEES UNPAID. You need to complete the driver ed course to get a driver license if you are under 18 years old.

Q: Can a student get a driver license without taking this course?

A: Students under 18 must complete driver education to get an intermediate driver's license. See here. At 18 the student may but is not required to complete a driver's training course and may just apply for a license at any Department of Licensing (like the one across the street from the school). They must pass the written and drive test with us first. Applicants over 18 may do drive lessons with us for a $45/hour fee to improve their skills.

Q: Are there refunds?

A: Due to the nature of the course we cannot offer any refunds after the first class is taken.
